I recently had the privilege of attending the prestigious Jazz Congress, held at the renowned Jazz at Lincoln Center in New York on January 11th. This exceptional day was a deep source of inspiration, thanks to the enriching shares and exchanges with renowned artists. The highlight of the event was the sincere and moving testimonies of musicians who had the opportunity to work closely with the legendary Wayne Shorter. Iconic figures in jazz such as Esperanza Spalding, John Patitucci, Marcus Miller, Buster Williams, and Terri Lyne Carrington shared their unique experiences with him, adding a human and intimate dimension to these encounters. Undoubtedly, the climax of the evening was the captivating performance by Joe Lovano at Dizzy’s Club, which perfectly captured the essence of this inspiring and memorable day.
